Hello and Happy Valentine's Day to you! How much pink can you handle in one post? I made some bow striped sugar cookies to share with you today. The cool thing is that you make any shape, any color, whatever you feel like! Easter eggs would be fun! Or maybe a pastel star. Anything!



I started out with THIS sugar cookie recipe.

Ingredients

2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup butter, softened
1 1/2 cups white sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). In a small bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Set aside.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in egg and vanilla. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients.


After the dough is ready, split it into two bowls. One bowl gets more red food coloring than the other and you have red and pink.



Flatten each pile of dough and cut into 1/4 strips. Alternate red and pink to make..stripes!


Cut out your shape with a cookie cutter or free hand hearts as I did as well.


Bake 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden. Let stand on cookie sheet two minutes before removing to cool on wire racks.


Dogs will really like these cookies....


And so will people.


And everything is better surrounded by candlelight, don't you think?



Valentine's Day is 100x's better if you have pink hair! All these years, I had no idea this was the secret to an "off the charts" Vday!





I finally got these instagram prints I ordered forever ago. It's so fun to have physical copies. Now I need to figure out a display type of situation. And order hundreds more.



Of course Gabe would get me this card for Vday.
