Hello! Vacation week continues with Halifax, Nova Scotia. This was my first time in Canada! Very exciting. I guess we have childhood connections to another city we visited. The great Lucy Maud Montgomery, author of one of very favorite books turned very favorite movie, "Anne of Green Gables", attended college in Halifax. Halifax comes up often in these movies/books and in the spin off tv show, "Avonlea". Anyway, SPECIAL.
It was a nice chilly fall day and it was....well...special!
Love your outfit! It's such a great mix of colours, pastel yellow against the blue polka dots, and of course the red bow! Have a great time in Canada :)
as soon as i read your title i thought: anne of green gables. what a great idea to put that sweet little lemon butter dress over the navy blouse! those 2 blonde ladies sitting together wearing shades, look like twins. i can't imagine why. oh, & i want that pretzel or whatever bread thing someone was eating in that photo! http://honeybeelane.blogspot.com/
...You know you totally watched Avonlea. You've said enough things in your blog over the years that I have no doubt in my mind. =) Mostly because usually my sister and I did and watched a lot of the same things that you've mentioned and oftentimes I find myself saying "of course she said that, its something Katelyn and I used to watch...that's awesome". Even though there are probably a million other people who can relate to the subtleties, I appreciate them and the nostalgia they bring. =)
I love your shots of Halifax! It makes me miss the east coast. I hope your first impressions of Canada are good ones!
And if you are a fan of Lucy Maud Montgomery, and presumably Anne of Green Gables, I certainly hope you'll have a chance to visit my beloved home province of Prince Edward Island!
Ah! I am from Halifax, but go to school in Montreal and this made my heart ache. You represented my home town very well! If anyone wants to see more photos of Nova Scotia check out my blog :)
