Ok, don't laugh at me for wearing maternity jeans already. I wanted a pair of colored denim and I didn't want to buy regular ones because I won't be able to fit into them for long. These are kinda like normal jeans anyway. They just have a soft waist, which makes them extra comfortable and you could definitely wear them if you aren't even pregnant. That's my $.02. :) Now I'm obsessed with buying more maternity clothes but most fall into one of two categories. 1: They are hideous. 2: They are just normal oversized pieces...why are they called maternity?
I'm also a bit obsessed with wearing my hair up recently as well. Fascinating, I know. It's just so nice in the hot weather!
Also, this is my dream blouse...cat print and a bow? Just. Stop. This is from the fall line but it will work in any season. My favorite kind of piece!
Blouse & sweater: Dear Creatures (available this fall at emerging thoughts)
Shoes: Rachel Comey
Pants: Topshop

What did ya do this weekend? Here are some recent phone pics of what I've been doing. I promise I don't eat half as many sweets as it seems. I'm not sending my baby into a sugar coma, honest! I just like photos of treats. :)
XO, Coury
That is really adorable, I want to be a cat.

ReplyDeleteone of my favorite looks on you. perfect, lady.
ReplyDeleteWOW, I never would have guessed those were maternity jeans! Seriously, so stylish. I really like loose, flowy clothes, and I've noticed that a lot of maternity stuff is just slightly baggier than normal. Which makes me like it a lot, haha.
ReplyDeleteCUTE PANTS!
ReplyDeleteLove those jeans - who knew they made maternity clothes that could look so good..! Congrats on the fabulous news that you're becoming a mum, that's so exciting..!
ReplyDeleteThese pics are great - I adore that sweater, it's amaze..!

You have been misinformed. Maternity clothes are NOT oversized normal clothes. You buy clothes in your size, and the front is larger to accommodate a growing belly. Oversized clothes are big all over which will make you look like you're wearing a big sack.
ReplyDeleteAnd, you are probably shopping in the wrong places to get maternity clothes. My friends, family, and co-workers thought that I was wearing "normal" clothes even though I wasn't. Target, JC Penney, A Pea in a Pod (which sells designer jeans), Mimi Maternity have cute maternity clothes. Besides, you're not going to wear them that long.
I hope that helps. You want to be stylish but trust me, comfort will eventually win out. Enjoy your pregnancy. It goes by faster than you think!

DeleteI guess I didn't explain myself very well. What I meant was that certain trendy clothes right now are tent shaped and have enough room in the belly for a 20 pound baby so I could just buy clothes like that instead of the "maternity" labeled and have a better selection. Believe me, I'm not misinformed.
Deletethose are some stylin maternity jeans :)

After doing a lot of thinking, I would love to feature your blog as my sole example? Please let me know if your not happy me presenting your blog to my course. If you are, I'd really appreciate if you could answer three short Q's! 1) Why did you start Fancy Treehouse (particular style blogging) 2) What is your motto in life and 3) What is your favourite quote? (As I want to feature this as the title of my assignment).
Please let me know if your not happy with it or don't want to answer those Q's! I picked you because I'm really inspired by you and you never fail to amaze me with your beautiful outfit choices! Chiara x

Those pastel purple pants are so cute! You'll rock then when you're showing :)
ReplyDeleteFor maternity clothes, instead of shopping in maternity, you can get dresses or skirts that are loose on you and are in a stretch fabric, like a jersey maxi dress or something, instead of drab maternity clothing :)
