Feb 5, 2011

The tree in the front of the yard is starting to grow.

I wasn't going to take pics today but I thought I would share my "don't feel good today and want to wear something comfy" outfit because I remembered that I always get inspired when I see how people dress for comfy casual days. I got these "jeans" at Zara last year and I've worn them a whole lot. Everything I have from Zara seems like it'll last awhile. It washes well unlike some other chains that i won't speak of. I'm sure we've all bought something and tried so hard not to get it dirty because once through the wash you have a completely different garment!

Now that I look at these pictures I love the coral and red together because it's very "Valentine-y". :) I pretty much love Valentine's Day just for the red and pink and hearts everywhere but I'm sure you already gathered that about me. :)

Oh, and just so you know, I don't take photos in outfits that I don't actually wear that day. It may be hard to believe that I actually wore the "Felicity: The American Girl Doll" outfit below out and about but I live in LA so nobody cares what I wear unless I'm in Silverlake, but in Silverlake everyone stares at everyone for some reason. And on days that I don't really put a fun outfit together, I wear something like this. It's comfy but I still feel fairly put together.

(Bright Peach Sweater- Vintage, Pants- Zara, Loafers- Vintage, Bag- Topshop, Coat- Ruffian for Anthropologie, Ring- Cleo & Cat)

Gabe and I had a fun day even though I can't seem to get rid of this Flu/Cold thing. We ate Barbeque for lunch (I had some yumms Mac & Cheese and cornbread) which was kinda weird. It's funny how some people just can't eat in the morning..for me it carries over into afternoons a lot. I will, however, partake in the occasional morning pastry. :)

I love LA!

I have been wearing different versions of red and pink every day and now I can say it's in honor of Valentine's Day! I was going to go work at Magic in Las Vegas but I'm so glad I decided not to so I can be home with my hunny. Speaking of Valentines Day, I don't have any decorations up yet. That'll be rectified tomorrow. Don't you worry!

Love!

Coury

  23. I know precisely what you mean about getting most inspired by seeing others' 'off day' outfits - it's when I'm feeling kind of funky, don't-want-to-even-change-out-of-PJs that I most need some outfit inspiration. I love this look - super comfy, but the shapes and colors keep it fresh and pulled together. I love your brooch and cocktail ring too, those little touches really add polish to the whole look.

My boyfriend and I are traveling abroad for now, but we've been talking more and more about where to live when we get back to the States - I have to say that your blog is single-handedly pushing LA to the top of my list! Your scrumptious food photos alone have me poking around on craigslist for apartments :)

  38. hahaha I hadn't seen your last post. You cracked me up with that Felicity comment. I love it when I can tell by references, pop culture or otherwise, that I am around someone's same age. I'm a Kirsten girl myself, swedish braid loops and all (or at least I tried to rock that look when I was 10). =)
