Wasting time on a sunny day.

Hi guys! Big weekend for us! We had another ultrasound on Friday and it went very well. Little babay girlie is looking strong and healthy (she also looks like she has abnormally long legs...haha). You should see videos of me as a child. My legs were ridiculously long. Ridiculous.

Anyway, knowing me and my worrying tendencies you can imagine how nervous I was. I even started to worry about whether they made a mistake on her gender last time and I was going to look like an idiot for having revealed it. I am quite silly. The good news is that my mind is at ease for now. Babe girl is moving around in there like crazy. She is definitely a night owl like her mom! The best part is when I can actually SEE her kicking/punching/moving/whatever she's doing in there. Indescribable! I remember reading about people feeling "kicks" and, you know, it's in the movies and all that...but until you've felt it for your self...FORGET ABOUT IT. It's the best feeling in the world because I know she's safe and happy in there and there's that aspect that it's just the two of you and your special bond that is already so obvious. It's just such a sweet time for me all around.

I told Gabe yesterday that as of right now, I wouldn't mind being pregnant all the time. This is a fine turnaround from my days of "morning sickness" when I told him everyday, "How/why do people do this more than once??". Haha. I get it now, ok? It's real to me. I love that girl more than I can even imagine and I haven't even met her yet.

So, here we are on yet another nature walk. I never thought I'd be 5 months pregnant wearing high waisted shorts but...never say never. I figured this would probably definitely be the last time in a long time I wear high waisted shorts so I enjoyed it...I lived it up in these shorts, if you will.

It has been record setting hot here. I am basking in it's glory. In my opinion, people only have the right to complain about hot weather or cold weather. Take your pick. I complain about the cold weather so I will never complain about the glorious sun enveloping us in it's trap. I will bathe in it and imagine the 30degree days and count my absolute blessings.

  5. I totally feel you on the shorts thing - I'm just starting my fifth month and amazed at how I still don't look pregnant. I have a shower scheduled for mid-September and can only hope I actually appear legit by then. Ha!

Glad to hear you had a great ultrasound. :)

  12. I'm quite digging the play between colors, shapes, and textures of all the pieces in your outfit. The shorts are cute but I would love to add that vibrant purple sweater to my wardrobe for the fall! Love you sunglasses too.

  24. THis was so nice to read, just really lovely to hear about the baby kicking. Speaking of long legs, I had the biggest head as a baby, completely abnormal, like a martian. This outfit is gorgeous, I want to try to make my outfits more textural (I think that's the right term) and innovative, and your outfit is definitely that. :D
