Happiness.

Ok, this is going to sound really stupid but I never really got that song, "You are my Sunshine". When I saw art made out of it and such, I just thought it was superfluous. NOW I get it. I sing it to Goldie baby on cloudy days and it makes me cry every time. Too, too sweet.

You are my sunshine
My only sunshine
You make me happy
When skies are grey
You'll never know dear
How much I love you

Please don't take
My sunshine away

If you aren't a parent, you probably still think it's stupid/cheesy...but that's ok. :)

I can't handle this ones little toothless smile. Too much. We went out to dinner tonight and she fell asleep in my arms while I was eating. It was so loud in that place but she felt so safe and comfy that she took a nap. It feels so good to be building trust with her and letting her know that through every single step of her life, I will be there to help with whatever she needs. I'll always be that safe place for her in a crowded restaurant/world/life. I know she'll always think of me this way because that's how I will always think of my mom. I would fall asleep in my mom's arms now. I still want her when I'm sick. I can't believe God let me have my little dream baby....my sunshine in the midst of Nashville winter.

Love to you!
Coury

  3. She´s adorable and just a few weeks younger than my first daughter. It is an amazing feeling that even after such a short time in this world they feel so safe and relaxed with their moms.

  4. I have a little boy the same age like Goldie. And this song is so sweet. I sing it to my cutie everyday, too. He loves it so much. And I know exactly what you mean.

I like the new idea of postings. I gave my blog a new style, too because now that I'm a mom I think it would be nice to post about some other things then only daily outfits.

  6. I totally understand how that song can effect you once you are a parent. I cry when I dance with my son around our living room. I envy you a baby that will fall asleep in your arms at a restaurant. We could never have done that, our little boy just wanted to be awake all the time! Goldie is gorgeous by the way. Love her little hat xxx
