When your heart is happy.

A fabulous day off!
I made a new makeshift fall flower crown.
We walked our feet off downtown and are now relaxing watching Couples Retreat. It's pretty bad but Bora Bora makes it worth watching...as long as you can multitask. (:

Less of a Marilyn, more of a Jackie.

Keeping it positive.

I really couldn't dream of a collar I could adore more. Thanks to Laur for using the sunlight so nicely. (:

I don't really like pie but it still makes me happy. I don't like hamburgers either but they make me happy too. (:

Had a special evening with my sister and parents. My family has a thing about going on "rides". My dad always drives us around to random places and now Gabe carries on the tradition. Today we are in the southern desert of California where I spent a lot of my childhood. My dad drove us by my old house, school, all of my friends' houses, & practically every business we ever supported in the area. We had dinner at Polly's Pies. There wasn't a patron in there under 60. Plus, they had adorable speckled tabletops. It was amazing. I love the warm September desert weather and the ubiquitous palm trees. So close to Palm Springs but I wouldn't want to go without my husb!

Love you guys.

Dead flowers.

Just another day in the neighborhood.

We built closets in our bedroom this avo. There is not a closet to be seen in this building.
They look like cabanas with lace overly. Love them. I said it felt like a princess room and Gabe got a disgusted look on his face. I guess he never dreamed he would live in a princess room...whatever that even means.
I also finally put up this For Like Ever poster that I've had for almost 2 years. Love it too.

This super cute anchor shirt was sent to me by darling Ediot. She hand-screen-prints each shirt and had the cutest tag attached! It definitely inspired me to make little tags. Thanks so much for the shirt..no one has ever sent me anything fun like that so you can imagine how excited I was. :) I wore it with my new favorite "army" shirt/jacket, the peach loafers I wear WAY too often, and my vintage Levi's cut-offs. The best part about the shorts is the wallet marks in the back pocket...I often wonder who wore them before me. Best part of wearing vintage!

Art walk is tonight so we probably won't get much sleep tonight!
And now I gotta get to work!

Dreamin'

Dreamin' of fall. And not California fall which isn't fall at all.
That doesn't mean I can't wear fall colors & fabrics!
I had a wonderful birthday. It's still my birthday for a couple of weeks though. (:
We just relaxed and my dad drove us to the forest.
I got fun gifts and Gabey woke up early and got me flowers and a pumpkin latte (guilty pleasure).

My mom lost her sister to cancer on Saturday so it was extra important for me to be with my family for my actual birthday.
I am named after her and I'm so glad. When I was younger I was so embarrassed that my middle name was Jane...now that she's gone it's just really special. She always took care of business and I would have gone crazy if I didn't have her bossing everyone around at my wedding. That is one of my best memories with her. I aspire to take on some of her assertiveness! Not much more I can say about the situation that is positive or inspiring so I will zip it.
